ATTN All Cadets: 2 Free WWII Film Showings Recommended for Cadets
OVER THE NEXT TWO WEEKS, THE CORPS CADETS WILL BE SPONSORING TWO DIFFERENT SHOWINGS OF DOCUMENTARY FILMS.

The first is the showing of "Texas Aggies Go To War", the documentary film based on the book by Henry Dethloff with John Adams

Wednesday, November 4, 7:30 p.m. at the Walter and Leonore Annenberg Presidential Conference Center, Bush School

The documentary film, based on the book, "Texas Aggies Go to War, In Service to Their Country" by Henry C. Dethloff and John A. Adams, is an hour in length and shows Texas A&M involvement from a military standpoint from the Spanish-American War and World War I to Operation Iraqi Freedom. Aggies have been in the forefront of America's armed forces, consistently producing more officers than any other school outside the service academies. The DVD, produced by Frame by Frame Film & Video Production, is compilation of the impressive war record of Texas Aggies, stories of individual soldiers, airmen, sailors, and marines.

The second is a premiere showing of the first two-hour segment of WWII in HD, an upcoming 10-hour series to air on the History Channel the week of November 15

Monday, November 9, 6:30 p.m. in Rudder Theatre

This 10-hour World War II drama/documentary premieres the week of November 15 on the History Channel with two hours airing each night. THIS PREVIEW IS THE FIRST TWO-HOUR SEGMENT.  A Lou Reda Production narrated by Gary Sinese.

This ten-part series draws upon more than 3,000 hours of WWII footage selected from archives and private collections around the world. The story is told through the experiences of 12 main characters who served during the conflict. Their stories, culled from diaries, journals and new interviews, will be delivered with emotional impact by some of Hollywood's top talents, helping to recreate the war's events not as detached historical facts, but rather as profound experiences. The veterans themselves also appear, recounting their experiences first hand.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC AT NO CHARGE, HOWEVER TICKETS ARE REQUIRED AND CAN BE PICKED UP FROM SHERRILL MOGONYE IN THE TRIGON OR AT THE APPELT VISITOR CENTER IN RUDDER TOWER ANY TIME BEFORE THE SHOWING
